Flower for the Day Poppies 6-4-21

In the wildflower garden we have two different kinds of poppy. The common poppy (Palaver rhoes), an annual, is an eye catching red. It is also called corn poppy, corn rose, field poppy, Flanders poppy, and red poppy.

It lasts more than a week in the garden. As a cut flower it lasts about a day and the petals start falling off.
I guess its sensitive.

We also have California poppy (Eschscholzia californica). Also called golden poppy, California sunlight,  and cup of gold
it is also in the Papvaeraceae family.

"A Poppy Blooms" by Katsushika Hokusai

I write, erase, rewrite

Erase again, and then

A poppy blooms.
