Flower for the Day Astilbe 6-18-21

For  many years we put astilbe in shady areas of the garden because it alone would flower there. Now there are many shade flowering

plants but the astilbe keeps coming back. It is a rhizomatous plant in the Saxifrage family. It is also known as false goat's beard and false spirea. They have fern-like foliage and feathery flowers. It makes you feel sensitive just to look at them.

Their globes burst in vibrato:

Blossom serenade.
