The iris have been blooming for about three weeks. Iris is a genus of 300 species of plants with colorful showy flowers. The name comes from the Greek word for rainbow. Iris is the Greek goddess of the rainbow.It is my favorite time of the garden year. Each morning a new iris blooms. This one is always the first to bloom each year,
followed by others in succession.
