This year we have California Poppy (Eschscholzia California) in several gardens. Also called golden poppy, Mexican poppy and pot of gold, it is a native in the Papaveraceae family. It has alternating branching glaucous (pale blue green) foliage. The flowers are solitary on long stems, silky textured, and with four petals.
