I have yellow crownbeard (Verbesina occidentalis) ringing 50 to 60 yards of the wildflower gardens. They grow high and sturdy with a unique rectangular stem.
They seem to be somewhat taking over but I really enjoy them. They are deer and weather resistant.The flowers are quite messy which fits my wildflower garden just fine.
