Flower for the Day Celandine Poppy 4-17-19

The Celandine poppy (Stylophorum diphyllum) is native to Missouri. They are also called wood poppys.  What I have learned about perennials is that if they like where they live they will return readily. I have tried growing Celandine poppys in at least four different locations in my gardens. Finally they are in a spot where they grow fruitfully and multiply.

The flowers have 4 petals, two sepals, many yellow stamens, and a single stigma.They last for several months which is a very long time for a flowering plant . They produce pollen but no nectar.
