Flower for the Day Small Palafox 10-2-18

This rare wildflower came up several weeks ago. Small palafox (Palafoxia callis)  - who knew- grows only in the south central part of the country -MO,OK, ARK,TX, LA, & MISS. It is an annual herbaceous forb. Thanks again to Claire for the ID.

 

The small spherical flowers each on a single stem are delightful.
