FFTD Bonus Chamber Music Concert Estes Park Colorado 8-4-14

This is the view from the balcony of the Historic Stanley Hotel Concert Hall where we enjoyed the Colorado Music Festival Concert under the direction of Jean-Marie Zeitoni. We heard the Carmen Suite by Rodion Schedrin(1967) and Leonard Bernstein's  Serenade After Platos Symposium(1954). It was great music in a spectacular setting.

These small flowers bloom in the ground cover between  the stepping stones in the gnome garden.

This is the last of the Oriental Lilies.

Downward facing flowers are difficult to photograph.

But this one was worth lying down for.

This time of year the Black Eyed Susans are in there prime.

Strong stemmed and color fast they are not bothered by

draught or drench.

The surprise lilies  arrived several weeks early this year. We have

been out of town and missed their bloom for the last several years.

 

They are breath taking....

 

and delicate.

These tiger lilies have transplanted well to the edge of the field.They are thriving with an occasional spritz of Deer Off.
