Allium

Allium is in the onion family but does not have a pungent odor. For years I thought that all allium were purple but I now have a giant white one.

Bansei

This impressive bansei exhibit shows a mountain woodland scene. At the suggestion of the guide, I sat down for a closer look. and the image I took shows a beautiful Oregon wilderness trail complete with moss covered rocks and trees.

Chinese Garden

David and Frances took us to visit the Chinese Garden in downtown Portland.
The weather is still very blustery.

Field Trip

We went to the tulip fields at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn Oregon. The clouds surrounded us all day but allowed us to enjoy the amazing tulips unhindered by the weather.

Oregon Coast

We walked the beach and Jan kicked up her heels.

Oregon Coast

On the weekend we drove to the beautiful Oregon coast which as usual was windy and chilly and moist. We stayed at Debbie and Rich's beach house opposite Twin Rocks.
The scenes and lighting are spectacular.

Party at Jeff and Melanies

This week we flew to Portland Oregon where we stayed with Lee and Danny. We also saw David and Frances and many other relatives and friends. These portraits of Danny and Lee were taken at a wonderful dinner party at Jeff and Melanies place in & on Lake Oswego.

Virginia Blue Bells

Mertensia virginica These delicate blue bells grow by trees behind the southern gnome garden. They are slightly hidden by the large green leaves which are preparing for the surprise lilies.

First Columbine

Aquillegia is Latin for eagle. The shape of the petals resembles an eagles claw. These red columbines have been in the gnome garden since the early 70's.
