Flower for the Day 4-7-10

Daffodils -  there are four different types of daffodils in my side garden. The plant
group Narcissus is in the Amaryllis family. Daffodil is the common English name and
is derived from affodell (probably joined with the Dutch article "de" affodell. This also
includes jonquils in the southern United States.

It seemed only right that we should end the year by

Tower of Treats

Before leaving for Colorado to spend the hollidays
with the kids and grandkids this 63# tower of fruit
and chocolates arrived at home. It took both of us to
lift it up to the table. 12-18-09

Jan's Monarch

This is really an image of a Monarch Butterfly from our fledgling butterfly garden on
some tall asters. It almost looks like a water color painting.

We have had our first frost and this will be the final Flower for the Day for the grand and glorious year -
2009. 11-29-09

New Suit

On the way to my brother Bob's Memorial
service I remembered I had forgotten to pack
my suit. Here I am in my new suit which was
purchased off the \rack the day before the service.

Bob's Memorial

On Saturday November 19 we all met in Marietta Georgia
for Bob's Memorial Service.I celebrated the occasion by forgetting
my suit. I now have a new suit. I spoke as did my cousin Lee and
the 4 orphans. It was an inspiring funeral fiesta. Here are some images
of the home my dad grew up in with his father Moultrie McKinney Sessions
and his mother Jane Drake Sessions.
