Flower for the Day 2-4 Amaryllis

There are three amaryllis bulbs left. This one sent its
stalk and bloom up initially and no leaves.

The front and back blossoms arrived several days before those on the sides.

This bulb has performed in a more standard way - sending out
huge leaves and then the bloom. It will open up later this week.

This one presents the quandary. Although the bulb is green and looks healthy it has
sent out neither leaves nor bulb stalk. What to do here?

Flower for the Day 1-30 Paperwhites

Narcissus papyraceus  These are amazing perennial bulbs that Jan put onto the
floor of my dad's goldfish bowl in a bit of water and no soil. They bloomed in less
than 2 weeks with a wonderful fragrance.

She used gnomes and ornamental rocks to prop them up.

There are beautiful daffodil like blossoms.

O'Connells Pub 12-17

Jan and I had a great lunch at O'Connells Pub which is at Kingshighway and Shaw. I had their famous Rueben sandwich and Jan had chicken breast. It is always crowded and the food is great.  Above is a print of Irish boxing Champion Jack Langan. Notice the Christmas lights.

O'Connells Pub has photos and quotes of Irish authors.

This is Molly Blooms ending quote from Ulysses.
