Flower for the Day Sweet William 6-1-17

This time of year my wildflower garden is filled with colorful Sweet William (Dianthus barbarous).
They started from seed and have come back yearly. They began on the southern edge and each
year they have moved to the north. I'm not sure whether it is the wind or the birds or something
else that is causing this interesting spread.

Here are just a few of these flowers that are included in over 60 yards of wildflower garden.
