Flower for the Day Amaryllis 3-11

Amaryllis is fifteen years old - beautiful though slow to bloom
this year.

For more than 2 months I have been watering and watching my 15 yearold amaryllis bulbs in a state of mysterious inactivity. About 10 days ago this bloom showed up.

And then at the opposite base this double has appeared.

At about the same time the other bulb has produced leaves and a bloom head.  It won't be long now. Where did my patience go?

Don's Blog - Flower for the Day 3-7 Crocus

One week ago we had 6 inches of snow. Today we have crocuses as our first flower.

This is Crocus flavus and it is in the Iris Family. They are gone before you can enjoy them.

Dark-eyed Junco

Jan identified this little bird as a Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis) awaiting his turn at the feeding station. Can you see his dark eye?

Don' Blog Love is in the air.

We had a little snow last night but its not stopping these two young cardinals from courting. If I were her I wouldn't fall for that line he's feeding her.

She is definitely taking it all in.
